THE body of a man found on a beach in Tywyn last week has been confirmed as that of missing Cardigan man Alan Hurley.
The 71-year-old pensioner had been reported missing and an extensive police search was carried out in the Aberporth area after Mr Hurley’s vehicle, a maroon Grand Cherokee Jeep, was found parked in Aberporth car park.
Officers made house-to-house inquiries in the Aberporth area and searches were conducted along the coastal path involving the police helicopter, local Coastguard units and Cardigan RNLI crews.
A police spokesperson said: “We can confirm the body found at Tywyn beach was that of Mr Alan Hurley. Our thoughts remain with his family at this time.”
