A CARDIGAN man who was more than twice the legal drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads for two years.

Daniel Alan Cope, of Golwg y Castell, Cardigan, was driving an Audi at Carrier’s Lane in the town on Saturday, March 28 when he was stopped by police.

The 31-year-old had 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Cope pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre, where he was banned for 24 months and fined £200. He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
