WITH the coronavirus pandemic continuing causing pubs to remain closed there is uncertainty over whether the Cardigan & District Darts League can be completed prior to the start of the 2020-2021 campaign.

All darts activity in the area was suspended in March and many players have expressed apprehension over rules such as social distancing having a detrimental effect on the future of the sport.

When the league ended prematurely the Teifi Furniture Singles Cup and Phil Noble Singles Competition were outstanding.

The league championship had already been claimed by Tafarn Yr Oen with two fixtures to spare – the 10th consecutive season for the Oen to lift the title.

After an unprecedented run of success over a decade, skipper Jamie Bowen, who along with Steve ‘Jerry’ Williams and Daniel Noble were there from the start, issued a challenge to any team in Wales.

“This is a quality league, borne out by Jamie Lewis and Justin Smith now in the PDC, and we are prepared to take on anyone if and when we start playing again,” he said.
