IF you want a first class service then pop along to Cardigan Post Office which has just been voted the best in the UK thanks to support from its loyal customers.

The branch came top out of almost 11,500 Post Office throughout the country for providing an outstanding customer experience during ‘Love Your Customers’ week, which ran from February 10-14.

More than 100 customers who regularly use the High Street branch got in touch to voice their support and to say how the staff always went that extra mile to help.

Caroline Wilson, Cardigan branch manager: “We just want to say a big thank you to all those people who supported us and for a small town branch like ours to come out on top is a fantastic achievement. We are so proud and grateful.

“It means a lot to us that people value the services we provide.”

Caroline is a familiar face to many in the town, having worked at the Cardigan branch for 12 years and been branch manager for six years, alongside three part-time staff.

“Things have changed a lot over the years and although many people now use on-line services, we still have an important role to play, especially in a rural community and in the light of so many banks closing,” said Caroline.

“We are as busy as ever. You cannot beat a friendly face behind the counter and it’s great that we have had so much support from our loyal customers. We get to know so many of them.

“We have an excellent rapport with our locals, but most of all they trust us. Cardigan being a small town, our reputation is vital and they know they can come to us for so many services plus advice.

“It’s so important that people trust us and long may we continue as a stand-alone Post Office because as in so many walks of life, if you don’t use us you will lose us.”
