STORM Ciara is on her way to the cardigan area this weekend packing 80mph winds and heavy rain and current forecasts show a risk of flooding and damage to property.

A Natural Resources Wales spokesperson said: “Please take care near the coast as strong winds may cause a tidal surge and large waves. Heavy rainfall is also predicted which could see rivers rise quickly.

“We’re keeping a close eye on the forecasts and monitoring river and sea levels as we head into the weekend. Flood alerts, and possibly warnings will be issued as necessary to registered people in at risk areas.”

Storm Ciara will bring very strong winds and potentially some disruption to travel.

The Met Office is predicting the worst of the weather on Sunday and says there is a risk of injuries and danger to life from flying debris and possible damage to buildings.
