A MAN has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth.
At 8.50pm on Saturday January 25 Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service that a man had been found with serious injuries in a doorway near to Bar 7 in Christchurch Road in Boscombe.
It was reported that the man had been involved in an altercation inside the bar at around 7.30pm and was later assaulted outside the premises.
The injured man, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment for life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A 56-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested in connection with the incident and has now been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
