A NEWCASTLE Emlyn man, who along with an accomplice stole booze from a supermarket, has been jailed for burglary.
Gwion Llwyd Davies, of Church Lane, Newcastle Emlyn, pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court to entering CK’s supermarket at Llandeilo as a trespasser on December 7 and stealing alcohol valued at £185.36.
The 26-year-old was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison because the offence was aggravated by Davies’ previous record and the fact he was already subject to a community imposed by the same court in November for theft.
Davies was also ordered to pay compensation of £92.68 and a victim surcharge of £122.
Fellow defendant Samuel Rhys Hill, aged 34, of Brodawel, Llandeilo, also pleaded guilty to the same offence and was handed an identical sentence.
