A CARDIGAN woman must carry out unpaid work as part of a community order after admitting to two cases of benefit fraud.
Gemma Mullett, of Bro Teifi, Cardigan, pleaded guilty to dishonestly failing to notify the local authority of a change of circumstances that would affect her entitlement to housing benefit between October 16, 2017 and August 13, 2018.
She also admitted a further similar charge relating to her entitlement to employment and support allowance between October 16, 2017 and August 21, 2018.
Magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre imposed a community order on the 29-year-old, requiring Mullett to carry out 60 hours unpaid work in the next 12 months.
She was also fined £85 and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and an £85 victim surcharge. An arrest warrant issued when Mullett failed to attend an earlier court hearing was withdrawn.
