A DRIVER has been banned from the roads for 28 days and fined nearly £450 after admitting speeding.
John Marc Mayes-Davies, of Maesyrodyn, Rhydowen, was clocked driving a Vauxhall Vivaro at 47mph in a 30mph zone on the A485 at Gwyddrug, Carmarthenshire, on April 18.
The 32-year-old had previously pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure and magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre banned him from driving for 28 days. The court did not find exceptional hardship as lessons had not been learnt based on previous driving history and that no hardship would be suffered, only inconvenience.
Mayes-Davies was also fined £446, along with prosecution costs of £85 and a £44 victim surcharge.
