AN alarm could be fitted to a lifebelt at Cardigan quay in an effort to deter vandals.
The lifebelt at Prince Charles Quay is constantly going missing or being played with, said Cllr Catrin Miles at a meeting at the town council.
She has expressed her fears before that lives were being put at risk but said the lifebelt is still being interfered with on a regular basis.
“They have put alarms on lifebelts as part of the River Towy Site Safety Project,” said Cllr Miles.
“If nothing else happens, those who play with it get quite a fright if it goes off and we should contact Ceredigion council to see if this is possible.”
