THE number of weeds on the high street through Cardigan has prompted complaints.

Cllr Clive Davies raised the issue at a meeting of the town council.

“I was up in Aberystwyth and there was active weeding being carried out by Ceredigion County Council staff on the high street there,” said Cllr Davies.

“So if anyone at the county council says they cannot afford to do it in Cardigan, well they can. Why can’t we have that level of service?”

Cllr John Adams-Lewis added: “Owners of building should also make an effort but they don’t.”

Councillors agreed to write to the county council to ask for a clear-up.
