LLANDYSUL Christmas Fair promises to be bigger and better than ever before this year.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 7 in the town from 2pm-6pm to coincide with Small Business Saturday , with the main street closed to traffic and a host of attractions promised for all the family.

Organisers have been busy planning a series of events and a spokesperson said: “Local businesses have come out in force and are all behind making this a great family-day out.

“By holding it on a Saturday afternoon, all the children will be able to enjoy it rather than it being on a Friday night.

“There will be street entertainment and live music to generate a festive atmosphere with plenty of stalls offering festive treats, as well as street food and a chance to meet Father Christmas.

“Rather than trying to compete with the big fairs, we are working with local people and businesses to local people and it’s all about trying to generate a feelgood factor and an identity for the area.”

The Country Market and local youth club are all playing a big part, - the youth club will be running the ‘story studio’ that proved so popular in the town last year - while there is an open invite to local bands and musicians, especially youngsters, who would like to busk. There will also be a fire act performing.

There will be a procession through the town at 3pm and people are encouraged to get dressed up, while there will be a best dressed window competition for both shops and private houses.

“We are trying to bring back a big of nostalgia and magic to Christmas. It’s Christmas like it used to be but taking it forward. See you all there on December 7,” added the organisers.
