A LONG line-type net left at Sandy Haven, which it is claimed has led to dozens of dead of dying fish being caught in it, has been investigated by the coastguard this afternoon, November 18.
H M Coastguard Dales was called to the beach this afternoon after many members of the public reported the issue.
H M Coastguard Dale stated: “Team arrived and found a large monofilament net placed across the beach.
“The incident was of interest to Fisheries Enforcement and we were asked to preserve the scene.
“On their arrival we assisted the Fisheries officer with the recovery of the net.”
Eyewitnesses have said dozens and dozens of dying or dead fish were caught in the line.
