NEW businesses are looking to bring fresh life to Canolfan Teifi Shopping Arcade in Cardigan.

Equine Tack and Snack is the latest new shop to open on the ground floor, joining Cardi Ent and Lalita’s Looking Glass, with Pixie Dragon and Glowing Tans on level three and Be You Yoga on the top floor.

And they’re keen to get the message out that they’re open for business.

Jo Debney is the owner of Equine Snack and Tack, which offers everything you and your horse could need, all with a cuppa thrown in for good measure.

“We were looking at Carmarthen to start with but there was nothing really suitable there for a start-up business,” said Jo, whose sister Emma runs West Wales Dog Rescue and will be employing here niece Katie in the shop.

“This is ideal for us – the rent is reasonable, we have got free WiFi, toilets and a big car park. We felt there was a gap in the market here for this type of shop and we are the first in Wales to offer the Totally Cobs brand of horse feed.

“We are also looking to take on another unit for second-hand furniture.”

Across the way is George Herbert at Cardi Ent, offering everything for all your party needs.

“There are balloons galore and we still do disco, karaoke, bingo nights, quizzes and more,” said George.

“Many of our balloons are 100% biodegradable and we are using new recyclable balloon sticks.”

Lalita’s Looking Glass, run by Linda Anderson, sells vintage and retro clothing, collectables and curios, alongside hand-painted upcycled furniture and she also supports local artists.

“We are looking to bring a bit of nostalgia to the area,” said Linda.
