THERE was a wonderful array of fruit, vegetables and flowers on display at this year’s 32nd Drefach Felindre Gardening Club Horticultural and Craft Show.
Despite the tricky weather conditions this year, growers had managed to produce a great variety of produce and the standard of the competition was high. There were also some wonderful exhibits of crafts, art, photography and cooking.
The President of the day was Jonathan Edwards MP, who chose a beautiful basket of fruit, by Dawn Mountfield, as his favourite exhibit.
Thanks must go to the show committee members for organising a wonderfully successful day and also to all of the judges who gave of their time to judge the entries.
There was an increase of 100 in the total number of entries compared with last year and included a wonderful display of art from the children at Ysgol Penboyr. Thanks also to Barry Adams for the photos of the event and to all those who supplied and served the refreshments.
The club is very thankful for the continued support it receives from the local community at this and other events such as the plant sales in May and July.
Clwb Garddio Drefach Felindre Gardening Club meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month at The Red Dragon Hall in Drefach Felindre from 7.30pm.
