A MOTORIST who was more than double the legal drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads for 22 months.
Andrew Martin Smith, of The Beeches, Llandysul, was driving a Mini on the B4459 at Llandysul on Saturday, September 21 when stopped by police. He had 87 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Smith, aged 52, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
As well as the 22-month driving ban, Smith was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
