TOP personal stylist Elinor McBurney has won an award for the stylist who raised most money for charity at the recent international House of Colour annual awards.

Elinor, from St Dogmaels, won the Helen Canon Memorial Award after raising £1,182.90 towards local charities during the year.

In addition, Elinor has helped numerous clients across the area to understand what colours and styles suit them, thereby boosting their confidence, enabling them to feel and look the very best versions of themselves, and making them visible for all the right reasons.

Elinor said: “Winning this award means such a lot to me because I’ve been able to combine raising money towards local charities with my work as a personal stylist.

“I am so grateful to my clients, family and friends who have supported these fund-raising efforts. I love working as a colour and personal stylist because it is incredible to be doing something that really transforms and empowers people’s lives.

“Any of us can look fantastic if we dress for our shape, know what styles suit us and if we wear the right colours from our own seasonal colour palette and I am passionate about working with colour, style and make-up in ways that helps reduce harm to the environment.”

Managing director at House of Colour, Helen Venables, said: “I am so delighted that Elinor’s expertise and hard work has been recognised. Her dedication has been second to none and her clients look and feel confident and sensational.”

Elinor’s top style tip is to get to know the palette of colours, style and make-up that suits your complexion, body architecture and personality so that you need fewer things in your wardrobe to enable you to look and feel amazing all the time.

This saves you time and money and bucks the current trend where people are buying more clothes and wearing them less. Instead, you see the contents of your wardrobe as an investment with longevity in mind.

Knowing what truly suits you and seeing past fad trends is an important step. Aim for timelessness.
