A DUTCH author has researched his family tree – and found his relatives come from Newcastle Emlyn.
Elwyn Schreuder, from Rotterdam has now published a book ‘Where does Elwyn come from?’
The book is the result of 20 years of research about his Dutch father and Welsh mother’s families, covering 356 pages and lots of old family photos and documents .
His Welsh family , the Roberts family (from grandfather’s side) came from Felinfoel, Llanelli. The family Lloyd (from grandmother’s side) came from the Newcastle Emlyn area.
Elwyn said: “Writing this book was possible thanks to the help of the living family members. It was not easy to get back further than around 1775 as records were lost or did not even exist.
“As the family were Baptists or Non Conformist it was difficult to find out which Chapels they had attended in the past time.”
The book is not for sale in bookshops but can be bought from the writer who can be contacted at elwyn.schreuder7@gmail.com
