A HUGE block of clay was slowly transformed into a dragon as part of a community mental health project at Newcastle Emlyn.

Internationally-acclaimed sculptor Rebecca Buck hosted a “Join In Sculpture” event at HUTS workshop at Teifi Terrace, Adpar, where people were invited along to take part to help create the dragon.

Rebecca was on hand all day to offer advice and discuss her work as dozens of people popped in to have a go at modelling the clay.

The event was part of the Ni i gyd/All of Us project which is a recently developed Saturday walk-in service for the adult community to gather and share experiences, ideas, information and skills.

It meets every Saturday in the HUTS building in Newcastle Emlyn and is focused on providing the opportunity for people who may not wish to approach HUTS with a formal referral from their GP or other health professional to attend a walk -in session.

The sculpture revolved throughout the day and a photographic record was made.

Rebecca has completed many community projects throughout her career including works with the mining communities of South Wales such as the Ocean Colliery Pit Marker and Parc Calon Lan.
