A LLANDYSUL motorist has admitted to careless driving following an accident in which both he and his passenger were injured when the car they were in rolled onto its roof.
Justin D’Acri-Bertin, of Bancyffordd, Llandysul, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.
The 28-year-old was driving a BMW Z3 on a road outside Coygen Quarrries, Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, on February 21.
D’Acri-Bertin was travelling uphill towards the A4066 at speed. He lost control on a left-hand bend, collided with the offside hedgebank and the car came to rest on its roof in the carriageway.
As a result of the collision, the passenger in the vehicle sustained slight injuries. The defendant sustained serious injuries comprising of a cut to his left hand and left arms necessitating stitches, surgery on the tendons on his left hand and stitches to a cut above his right eye.
D’Acri-Bertin was fined £120, with £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His driving licence was endorsed with seven penalty points.
