A PENSIONER from Newcastle Emlyn is to face a retrial after a jury failed to return verdicts on allegations of historical child sex offences.
Christopher James Tatton, aged 72, stood trial at Swansea crown court charged with 24 offences against three girls when they were aged four, five and 13.
Tatton, of Llandyfriog, denied all the allegations.
The jury failed to reach even majority verdicts on any of the charges. Robin Rouch, prosecuting, told Judge Geraint Walters yesterday (Friday, September 13) that the Crown wanted a second trial.
Judge Walters said it would start on February 10, 2020. Tatton was granted bail until then.
