A NEWCASTLE Emlyn man has escaped a driving ban under the totting up procedure because of the impact it would have on his young family.
Darren Clint Pritchard, aged 46, of Betws Ifan, Newcastle Emlyn, admitted speeding at 36mph in a 30mph zone at Caerphilly on December 11 last year.
Magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre imposed three penalty points but decided not to disqualify him under the totting up process as the loss of his licence would have a severe impact on his four children.
They would be unable to travel to school due to the rural location of where they lived and the lack of alternative public transport or transport provided by the local authority.
Williams was also fined £40 for speeding, along with £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
