A NEW Quay motorist has been given a year’s ban after admitting drink-driving.
Jack Cope, of Llys Derwen, New Quay, was stopped while driving a Fiat Punto on the B4342 at New Quay on July 26. A breath test showed he had 40 micograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
The 23-year-old pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Justice Centre, where magistrates imposed a 12-month ban as well as a £200 fine. Cope was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
