THE parents of two children who failed to attend school on a regular basis have both been fined and ordered to pay costs totalling more than £1,000 each.
The couple from Llanybydder, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were convicted in their absence at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court in a prosecution brought by Ceredigion County Council.
The children failed to attend school regularly between November 2018 and May 2019.
The parents were each fined a total of £660 and were also both ordered to pay £325 costs and a £33 victim surcharge.
