A DISABLED pensioner has spoken of his shock after being confronted by a motorcyclist while out doing his shopping in Cardigan.

The 70-year-old man, who walks with the aid of a stick, was going back to his car in Tesco car park with his shopping on Monday morning (July 8) when the motorcyclist pulled up to him at around 11.30am.

“He stopped next to me and said ‘you don’t need that stick, you are just using it for show. I know your sort and will be watching you,’” said the man, who does not wish to be named.

“He then just rode off. I have no idea of who he is or why he did it. I was just left open-mouthed but does he have a vendetta against disabled people?

“I can assure you I need my walking stick. I have a disabled badge but I was not in a disabled bay. I did not know what to make of it but felt very uncomfortable.”

The motorcycle was a blue scrambler-type bike and the rider, who was wearing a full-face helmet, had shoulder length hair and was wearing a sleeveless t-shirt.

The incident has been reported to the police, who confirmed they had received a complaint and were looking into the matter.
