A DRIVER who admitted carrying a dangerous load near Cardigan has been hit with fines and costs of more than £1,000.
Frederick John Jones, of Powell Close, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit on the A487 at Tremain on September 24 last year when the condition of its accessories or equipment, namely its load, was such that it involved a danger of injury to any person.
He had previously denied the charge.
The 52-year-old also admitted driving the vehicle when its condition, namely its load, was such that its use involved a danger of injury to any person.
Magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre fined Jones £350 for each offence, along with costs of £300 and a £35 victim surcharge. His driving licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.
A further charge of dangerous driver, to which Jones pleaded not guilty, was dismissed by the court.
