A CARDIGAN drink-driver has lost his licence for 12 months and been hit with a hefty fine.

Saul Roberts, of Golwg y Castell, Cardigan, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra between High Street and Morgan Street in the town on June 9.

Roberts had 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre handed out a year’s driving ban to the 46-year-old along with a fine of £330. Roberts was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £33 victim surcharge.
