THE Wild West is the theme chosen for this year’s Llechryd Parti yn y Parc.

A host of events are being planned in the village with the ever-popular scarecrow competition set to take place again. Scarecrows based on the Wild West must be displayed outside entrants’ houses by July 1 for judging but preferably before.

On Wednesday, July 3, there will be pig racing n the Coracle Hall at 7pm. There will also be a summer citrus cake and cowboy savoury pie competition – entries to be brought that evening for judging.

The Wild West Parti yn y Parc carnival day takes place on Saturday, July 6. Meet at Hammet/Castell Malgwyn at noon for light refreshments followed by the Carnival procession, Carnival Queen and attendants, fancy dress, children’s entertainer, fun and games, stalls, hot food and refreshments, cakes and tea and coffee, raffle.

Evening entertainment will be provided by Memphis Belle.

On Sunday July 7, there will be a treasure hunt at 2pm followed by the duck race at 4pm, with discounted refreshments at Flambards.
