THE famous knitted Aberteifi Cardigan is back on display after spending several weeks in a deep freeze!

Every few years the knitted masterpiece – created to celebrate Cardigan’s 900th birthday in 2010 – has to be frozen to kill off any moth threat.

The IBERS institute in Aberystwyth has stepped in for the second time running to do the honours.

“We are really grateful to IBERS and Tim Langdon for doing this – it is essential to make sure the cardi has a long life,” said cardi creator Lisa Hellier.

The cardi is now hanging in Stiwdio 3 in High Street, Cardigan and viewing is free.

The Aberteifi 2010 committee is already in discussion planning a potential sister knitted project for next year.
