A DRINK-driver who was caught in New Quay has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 45 months.
Michael Payne, of Clos Pentre James, Llwyncelyn, was stopped while driving a Mini at Church Street, New Quay, on May 26 and was more than double the legal drink-drive limit.
Payne had 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
As well as the 45-month driving ban, Payne was fined £692 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £69 victim surcharge.
