A 32-year-old Llandysul man has admitted deliberately distressing Glangwili Hospital nurses during an incident on May 23.

Tony John Gemmer, of King Street, failed to attend a hearing before Llanelli magistrates but his solicitor entered a guilty plea on his behalf to a charge of causing harassment, alarm or distress to two nurses by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent while at the hospital.

A charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words and behaviour which would lead the two women to believe violence was likely to be used against them was dropped by the court.

Gemmer is due to appear before magistrates at Aberystwyth on June 19 for sentence and must provide a medical certificate to explain his absence from the hearing at Llanelli or face additional charges.
