A motorist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision at Windy Corner, near Pencader, this lunch-time

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on the A485 at around 12.15pm today (Sunday, June 9).

A lorry and a silver Vauxhall Astra were involved in the collision.

The female driver of the Astra was trapped in her vehicle.

The fire service removed her from the car and she was flown to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.

The road remains closed. Avoid the area and diversions are in place.

The B4459 Pencader road remains open.
