A SUSTAINABLE, low impact development near Llangolman in the Preseli Hills which will produce alpaca wool has been given the green light.
It was the second One Planet Development application, in the same area, to be approved at the May planning committee at Pembrokeshire County Council.
At the meeting Etta Happe told councillors that it was more than an application to her family.
βIt means everything to us, this is our whole lives,β she added.
Approval was granted for a caravan, barn, studio, compost toilet, two polytunnels, two Alpaca field shelters, a laundry shed and one angora rabbit shed at Baradwys, land formerly known as Rhosfach.
Miss Happe said that she and her partner planned to wash and ball the combined wool to sell locally and online.
A similar application had been withdrawn to protect rare butterfly habitat, she added, and the couple were working closely with Natural Resources Wales.
A phased approach to the development is proposed starting with track ways and ground works in the first year, along with fencing, tree planning and putting a static caravan on site.
This will be removed when the residential cabin is built in year three.
The second year will focus on constructing a barn, field shelters and beginning the vegetable garden, planting of soft fruits and orchard with studio, polytunnels and wind turbine scheduled for year four.
The plan was unanimously approved.
