A LANDMARK 200-year-old beech tree at St Michaels Church, Betws Bledrws, in Ceredigion was brought down in the recent Storm Hannah causing much distress to all who have connections with the church and churchyard.
The clearing up of the tree is taking place but it is a sensitive and difficult operation. If anyone has any pictorial or written history of this tree it would be most welcome for the church archive.
A programme of fund-raising is already underway to repair parts of the church and this is now more urgent than ever in order to restore the churchyard to the peaceful, tidy place it was before.
Any information or contribution, which will be greatly appreciated, to Dinah Gibbons, church warden on 01570 493344 or email to Dinah Gibbons gibbons.dj@hotmail.co.uk
