ALICE Walters was crowned Miss Carmarthenshire at the Miss Wales 2019 finals.

Twenty-two-year-old Alice, from Newcastle Emlyn, made it through to the recent grand final in Newport where she just missed out on the top title.

But it was an experience she thoroughly enjoyed and would encourage anyone else who is thinking of applying in future to do so.

“The experience has definitely changed me as a person, it has pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me realise that I am capable of doing it,” said Alice, who works for Antur Teifi in the town and is a big advocate of work-based learning and apprenticeships.

She is currently studying a level 3 business and administration course through work-based training.

“I've had several radio and tv interviews and I’m confident in public speaking thanks to the Miss Wales organisation,” added Alice.

“The whole process is about self-development, and I've had many people telling me that they can see a difference, I’m confident in myself in work and personal life.

“To anyone that have thought of applying, I would say don't think twice, you will only gain out of the experience, friends, confidence and the community behind you.

“Thank you to everyone for the kind messages and support I have had which I’ll treasure forever.”
