THE problem of a Cardigan street being used as a rat run at night has been raised at a meeting of the town council.

Cllr Trystan Phillips said: “I have had reports of William Street being used as a rat run by motorists, with speeds often in excess of 40mph especially after dark.

“It’s a real danger to pedestrians. Perhaps speed bumps could be installed.”

Cllr Clive Davies said that the council was tending to shy away from putting in speed bumps.

Mayor of Cardigan Cllr John Adams-Lewis said: “There is already a 20mph limit there. We can ask the county council to look at it and do a survey.”
