MUSIC from Theatr Mwldan’s flagship music project in Cardigan – the collaboration between Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Senegalese kora maestro Seckou Keita - is being featured throughout the new BBC Two series ‘Don’t Forget the Driver’.

The BBC Two comedy is the first piece of writing for television from BAFTA winner Toby Jones and Obie Award winner Tim Crouch, produced for the BBC by Sister Pictures.

Catrin and Seckou have been championed by Toby Jones since their first album ‘Clychau Dibon’ and the series features music from Catrin and Seckou‘s award-winning second album ‘SOAR’, which was released on bendigedig - the record label owned and managed in common partnership by Theatr Mwldan and ARC Music Productions International Ltd.

The duo were also invited by the production team to compose a bespoke piece especially for ‘Don't Forget the Driver’ titled ‘Rita Tara’.

Catrin and Seckou were delighted to be asked to be involved in the programme.

“I’m a big Toby Jones fan, so was honoured to be asked,” said Catrin

Seckou added: “It’s an exciting thing to be asked to do and great to see our music being used in this way”.

The first episode of ‘Don’t Forget the Driver’ aired on April 9 and the entire series is available to watch on the BBC iplayer for two months.

Catrin and Seckou will be touring worldwide this year, with a show in West Wales at Lampeter University on July 20 (tickets via Theatr Mwldan). All tour dates can be found on their website.
