A DRUG-driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months and fined.

Alan Roy Price, of Bryn Glas, Aberporth, was stopped near Cardigan while driving a Ford Fiesta on the B4333 at Bryngwyn on December 29 last year.

Price tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, a derivative of cannabis, with 4.4 microgrammes per litre of blood. The legal limit is two microgrammes.

He also tested positive for benzoylecgonine, the main metabolite of cocaine, with 82 microgrammes per litre of blood. The legal limit is 50 microgrammes.

Price, aged 33, pleaded guilty to drug-driving when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre. As well as the year-long driving ban, he was fined £220, along with £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
