A MAN found with drugs in a Cardigan car park has been spared jail after breaching the terms of a previous suspended prison sentence.

Justin Benjamin Ryan McFee, of Corporation Street, Aberystwyth, was caught with 6.8 grammes of herbal cannabis at Lower Mwldan car park in Cardigan on February 22.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing drugs when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

That placed him in breach of a 20-week jail sentence, suspended for 24 months, which had been imposed by Carmarthenshire magistrates for burglary on August 24, 2017.

However, the bench at Aberystwyth decided not to activate that as McFee had complied with all the requirements of that sentence. Instead they ordered him to carry out a further 50 hours unpaid community work.

He was also ordered to serve a 12-month drug rehabilitation order, with monthly reviews. McFee also has to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
