A CARDIGAN man has been given a 17-month ban after admitting drink-driving.

David Aled Richards, of Castle Street, Cardigan, was stopped while driving a Fiat Panda on the B4333 at Tanygroes, Aberporth, on March 6. He had 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

The 54-year-old pleaded guilty when he appeared at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

Magistrates imposed the 17-month driving ban, along with a fine of £200, costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
