THE latest awards from the Welsh Church Fund through Ceredigion County Council top £11,000.
At Tuesday’s (March 19) cabinet meeting members noted an update on the grants awarded from the Welsh Church Fund as part of the Ceredigion Community Grant Scheme.
Newcastle Emlyn-based mental health charity HUTS (Helping us to Survive) received £2,000, Cyfyndeb Annibynwyr Cymraeg Ceredigion/Ceredigion Association of Welsh Independent Churches £3,000 and Welsh music festival Tregaroc £300.
There was £61 for print group Printers in the Sticks, £5,000 for Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch, £861 for Ray Ceredigion, which supports families and children, and £500 for Opera Teifi.
Following a decision in 2017, Tregaron and Llandysul leisure centres received £10,000 each.
The centres were allocated £30,000 by Ceredigion County Council cabinet from the grant scheme in 2017, with an initial £15,000 awarded at that time and £10,000 in 2018/19. A final £5,000 instalment will be awarded next year.
Both centres have been transferred from council control to community groups.
A report to cabinet states that the church fund balance is currently £118,000.
