THE prospects of getting a footpath from Caemorgan Road outside Cardigan up towards Penparc along the A487 appear no closer to happening.

Cllr John Adams-Lewis told a meeting of Cardigan Town Council that he had received a letter from Ken Skates, Welsh Government secretary for economy and transport to say any proposed scheme was “still under consideration” but would have to look at issues of land acquisition and project costs.

“We are none the wiser really but it is a dangerous piece of road and several people who walk along there have had their arms knocked,” said Cllr Adams-Lewis.

“I know one man who comes down that way every day from Penparc.”

Cllr Catrin Miles said a survey of all trunk roads was currently being carried out and she had raised the issue of speeds around the Ridgeway roundabout.

Work is currently being carried out to improve pedestrian access from the roundabout at Pontycleifion towards Parc Teifi. Four-way lights are currently in operation and motorists are being warned to expect delays for four week.
