A CALL has been made to crack down on dog fouling in Newcastle Emlyn.

Cllr Kelvin Baker raised the issue at a recent meeting of the town council and said urgent action needed to be taken.

“In the morning when I drop off my wife there are big blobs in the main street – it’s terrible,” he said.

“There are kids walking along to school and it’s not right. If we can catch someone and prosecute then that will send a message to other dog owners that we will not tolerate dog fouling on our streets.”

PCSO Jeff Kedward said he was aware of the problem and could give out tickets retrospectively if he had the evidence, which could be obtained by using the town’s CCTV system.
