LOCAL company Mugbys based just outside Newcastle Emlyn has produced a new Mugby design to celebrate Wales's famous 21-13 Six Nations win against England last week.

Within hours of the result, the Mugby design - entitled ‘No Wheels’ which eludes to the wheels coming off England’s chariot - was available online.

"We were well aware the England were favourites for the match, but when it comes to Wales playing rugby, Welsh fans never say die,” said Mugbys’ Mal Humphreys, also known to many as cartoonist Mumph.

“We put the design together beforehand in hope that Wales could do the job on England. Then all we had to do was enter the score. Our 'bois' didn't let us down."

The Mugby has been flying out online and has already gone to America and to loads of Welsh fans living in England, with another big batch heading up to a rugby club in north Wales.

"There's a very healthy and always humorous rivalry between the two great rugby nations,” said Mal.

“It's all about bragging rights and proud Welsh fans have been taking the Mugby into work to show off to their English colleagues. It’s all part of the banter and is good, harmless fun.

“There’s just this thing about playing England – it’s just there. For 80 minutes every year we get the chance to put one over them and when we do it’s just brilliant.

“However, we have had to wait three years to produce another Mugby as the last time we did it was in 2015 when we won 28-25 in the World Cup,”

The Mugbys "No Wheels" is available online at mugbys.gift/no-wheels on the Mugby.gift website.
