THE Cardigan area escaped pretty much unscathed as snow caused travel problems in many parts of Wales and the rest of the UK yesterday and this morning.
Ice was the main problem across the Tivyside area this morning, with snow on higher ground, especially across the Preseli Hills.
Primary and secondary routes have been gritted overnight, with secondary routes just being completed this morning.
In Pembrokeshire, ploughing on the mountain road was undertaken overnight and the B4329 was closed overnight. The road is now open but members of the public are being asked not to park on the side of the roads as this will cause obstructions to gritting operations.
Many schools closed early yesterday across Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
