THE clock at Cardigan Guildhall has stopped working – and it could cost more than £2,000 to put right.

A meeting of the town council heard that specialist clock repairers Smith of Derby had been called in to look at the problem and had discovered a broken part that would cost more than £2,000 to repair.

Menter Aberteifi, responsible for the running of the Guildhall, is now looking for alternative quotes as it also has to find money to repair the lift at the venue after it broke down as well. Initial estimates suggest that could cost £3,000.
