A LOCAL business has made a much-needed donation to Cardigan foodbank for the second time this year.

West Wales Holiday Cottages, based in Sarnau, is a family-run business and its partners and staff are committed to supporting the local community.

West Wales Holiday Cottages’ senior partner, David Witt said: “We are delighted to be able to support the local community by donating to the Cardigan foodbank, especially at Christmas time. Christmas is a time of giving, so we hope that our donation will help those who need it most.”

The Trussell Trust recently reported that December was the busiest month for foodbanks last year and year on year the demand for their services is growing rapidly.

The foodbank provide a list of what they urgently need, it helps them greatly to have what they know will be useful to those who need it. Donations are helpful now so that the foodbank can plan ahead to provide support at Christmas and the coming months.

Demand for donations in the Cardigan area is sadly increasing so if you would like to make a donation, you can find details of your local foodbank on The Trussell Trust’s website.

Mr Witt added: “We are committed to supporting the local area and urge anyone who is thinking of donating to do so. We donate at least twice a year, once at Christmas and again at the beginning of the school summer holidays when demand is at its greatest.”
