NEWCASTLE Emlyn’ Victorian night proved a huge hit last week.

The rains held off and the streets were packed and lined with stalls as the town welcomed visitors to its annual pre-Christmas event.

Mulled wine and mice pies were on offer from all the local traders, while horse-drawn carriage rides up and down the main street proved very popular, along with Santa’s grotto and the annual Christmas tree festival at Holy Trinity Church.

Organiser Odette Little said: “I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone that came to Victorian Evening, you made it such an enjoyable evening.

“We were blessed with better weather this year and enjoyed having the Gentle Giants Shire Horses with us, they raised £245.60 from the evening for Emlyn Hall to contribute towards its refurbishment, huge thanks to them.

“Thank you too for supporting all the community fundraisers during the evening.”
