TRAFFIC around Napier Street and Cardigan Primary School was ‘bedlam’ during the period of Cardigan Fair.
“The whole area was very congested especially around the school and at times it was something like a Mexican stand-off, with the cars not moving,” Cllr Yvonne O’Neill told a meeting of the town council.
“It is very dangerous for the young children and I just wonder if it would be possible that during the fair, Napier Street could become one-way. I am sure that would help improve the flow of traffic and make it much safer for the children.
“It is the same every year and it is an absolute nightmare with cars and buses all trying to get through. You can be there for 20 minutes before you can move.”
The concerns will be passed on to Ceredigion County Council, who are responsible for highways matters.
