A DRIVER stopped by Ceredigion Roads Policing Unit at 1.50am this morning (Friday, December 7) has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving.
The vehicle was stopped for having no MOT and while the driver smelt of alcohol, blew below the legal limit on a breathalyser. However, a drugs test indicated positive for both cannabis and cocaine and the driver was arrested and blood samples sent for analysis.
The previous day (Thursday December 6), Ceredigion traffic police stopped a driver for using a mobile phone. The driver failed a roadside drugs test and suspected drugs were recovered from the vehicle.
Another Ceredigion driver also failed a roadside drugs test yesterday for cannabis and again awaits the results of blood tests as Dyfed-Powys police step up their Christmas drink/drug-drive campaign.
